Right now the economy is holding us all back from making the improvements we all need and want.
I need more space here at my location but am not sure whether to go ahead with the addition or not. I want to add 1000 sft to my building for storage that I desperately need. I have obtained preliminary construction costs from more than one contractor but I know it there will be additional costs before the project is completed. What to do, what to do. That seems to be the story with most customers. They need the work done, they want the work done but are hesitant when it comes to spending the money. Understood, being in this industry for more than thirty five years, I think I have seen it all. I have lived through the eighties, late nineties and now the wonderful two thousands.
Well here is my point, if you are thinking you are ready to finally pull out those old outdated crappy looking floors, bathroom, patio, summer kitchen or whatever, then I strongly suggest that you do not let price be the final decision when selecting your product and installation professionals. I put new floors in my own house about fourteen years ago and they still look great and are highly functional. Let’s say I spent ten thousand dollars when I installed. I would divide 168 months into $10,000.00 and come up with about $60.00 per month on the cost of the floors. The floors are still worth what I spent on them and I feel that is a pretty good investment.
Quality products and quality installation and all these years later my floors are still highly functional and appealing.
If you are thinking of getting this work done then make sure you buy a quality product and have it installed by a professional. Get more than one bid and check into the company’s history. Oh and by the way, if you are thinking of buying these types of products on the internet, GOOD LUCK. I hear more negative stories than positive ones. When you buy on the internet it is your responsibility. You have no one to blame but yourself. Once you purchase the materials, they are yours. I’m not going to fight the manufacturer for you and the blame game will start once there is a problem.
Do your homework before you make a final decision, and check everything out before you let an unlicensed installer in your home. Check with your insurance company about what happens if you hire an installer and he gets hurt on your job or destroys something in your home. Once again it it’s all on you.

It isn’t worth it, twelve plus hour days, product lines changing daily, reps that are over worked and covering massive territories, and customers demanding more and more.
Hey Dan, I see your closing the shop. Ya Butch it is not worth it anymore, customers are driving me crazy with the “I saw it on the internet for, or It looks like this on the internet why can’t I” etcetera etcetera etcetera…
Ya Dan I’m tired of customers coming in borrowing my samples and buying it on the internet.
Ok, why am I so lucky?
I’ve been in the business all my life, I know how to do the job, I have customers that know that and keep coming back for more. Word of mouth is the best advertising there is.
Do it right, do it once and make the customer happy and proud of their investment.

Anyone can sell you a product. So why buy from us?
That is the easy part, today almost everyone is price shopping and it is very competitive out there. We offer the same products that can be purchased at most of the competition. One thing we do offer is honesty that is what is important when working with the consumer. Are you going to actually get the right information when shopping? We don’t want to sell you a product that isn’t right for your home. When I come to your home and look at the areas and usage, I will not recommend a product that I think will be wrong for those areas. For example, if you are looking to put new wood floors in your kitchen and you have small children I will recommend that you do not do it. Do you realize how much wear and tear you get on a kitchen floor? Probably more than any other area in the home. Of course if you are determined to put wood in the kitchen we will be happy to install it for you, but I will not do it until I have educated you on the problems that may occur. I will also recommend that you thoroughly check us out. The consumer needs to know the history of the company that they are considering.
Cheap is usually wrong, but if we are fair and honest with our customers we will usually prevail.
Do you know how many consumers just buy by price? Too many! Product knowledge and quality installation are the most important thing to consider. Hopefully we are going to sell you on our reputation, not our price. Price is important, but should never be the determining factor. After all how many times in your life are you going to replace the flooring in your home?
Please take the time to check out the company you are considering using. It is the most important part of your decision when buying. If the name has Liquidators in it, then that’s what it is. With us you get what you pay for.
Thanks for reading this; I hope it will help when you are shopping.
Butch
